With Halloween just around the corner, we pick out a few creepy karaoke classics that are sure to get your fright on!
The Rocky Horror Show shocked audiences in the 70′s with its controversial themes of sexuality, including a mad scientist in drag (things were different back then). Of all the songs in the musical, none is more enduring than the zombie rockin’ ‘Time Warp‘. Originally envisioned as a parody of instructional dance songs, it’s recent performance on the hit show ‘Glee’ shows that we’re not ready to stop doing the time warp again!
Another Halloween favourite is Bobby Pickett’s 1962 novelty number ‘Monster Mash‘. Inspired by the Mashed Potato dance craze of the early 1960′s it featured a whole host of beastly boppers, who could ask for more!
And of course no Halloween karaoke list would be complete without mentioning the King of Pop himself. MJ’s 14 minute masterpiece ’Thriller‘ is creepiness of epic proportions, reportedly costing a whopping $500,000 to make. That’s a lot of zombie make-up!

A HOT new craze has been taking London by storm over the past few days: PRIVATE KARAOKE PARTIES IN LONDON!
Particularly in the last 24 hours, Twitter and Facebook have been buzzing about karaoke. Why? Well, it’s hardly surprising. Recently crowned “Sexiest Woman Alive”, super-star Rihanna certainly stirred up a frenzy when she and her tour crew rocked Nove Karaoke Bar in Mayfair on Wednesday night.

Alcohol flowed fast and sparks were flying between Rihanna and rekindled old flame, Matt Kemp, as they laughed, drank and sang their hearts out all together. Even Rihanna’s bodyguards joined in with the action, singing Guns ‘n’ Roses. Rihanna’s first song choice was Kings of Leon’s “Sex on Fire”, and the others were busting out more big tunes such as R Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly” and Destiny Child’s “Bootylicious”. The guys even danced together when singing their rendition of *Nsync’s “Bye bye bye”. See that video clip here:
As if that wasn’t enough to get everybody’s hearts pumping, with talent TV show X-factor gripping millions of viewers and taking over our screens every weekend as they broadcast live, it’s no wonder people are craving a fun night out Karaoke-ing with a group of their friends.
